Eve6MediaHQ said:Pretty lame if you are going to Vegas and playing video roulette just to get free buffets. JMOYes it's lame...but the benefits are there. However, not only do you get free meals, but free room and dining offers come in the mail as well. If you don't pay for the hotel rooms upfront as I did, I believe you can ask the casino host to review your players card activity and possibly get a nice discount on your bill before checkout.**
I don't play the $1 B/$1 R (but not a bad idea!!). I played a variation where the coin in was $13 a spin. That racked up $3,039 coin-in's in less than an hour (just got my win/loss statement from the casino).
Also play on multiple points days and meals are more than paid up with an hour of play. That's all on a shoestring bankroll of less than $100.
** that's what I read somewhere, never tried it. And not always do you play where you stay, so counting on a room discount for your play is nebulous. I found Video Roulette machines in Vegas at El Cortez, Orleans, Gold Coast, and Vegas Club, also Sam's Town has some I heard but husband was down with norovirus so we walked back out the minute we got there. I also like the group roulette machines at Indian casinos...they're fun!
As to how lame this all is...I do it for the sport like tweaking the miles and coupons that got us there in the first place
Just a nice break from real life haha The only downside is my husband tells me I'm wasting my time...and worst of all thinks I'm losing more than I am.
Sorry for the rambling...but the frequent cheap Vegas trips*** we take has turned me into a Vegas tweaking junkie. Again, this is all for fun but maybe is really a sickness...
*** last year one of the trips we took from Hawaii to Vegas for 4 days cost a total of $110 per person, airfare, hotel and rental car. On another trip last year from Hawaii to SFO/Reno for 10 days, total cost was $225 per person, all included. Of course both trips used Delta skymiles. And meals were the big score, all you can eat for the entire trip pretty much and costing no more than our home food budget. So far the tally for 78 hotel nights these past few years, including gambling budget though not food, is $784 per person/per trip. Just thought I'd share how much tweaking provides. Husband is just along for the ride.
Being we live so far from the casinos, I'm not able to take them up on their free room offers that come by mail, but I might call the casino host before future bookings and ask if I can get a free room then. Maybe I should call before the offer ends...
